When a single zone quits while the rest work, the problem is almost always in the parts that control that one zone: its valve, its solenoid, its wiring, or the controller terminal that runs it. That's usually a small, affordable fix — not a reason to panic about your whole system.
People often fear a dead zone means cracked underground pipe or a system that needs replacing. That's rarely it. Buried pipe doesn't just stop delivering water without a leak (which shows up as a wet spot). A cleanly dead zone points at the electrical and valve side — the cheap-to-fix side.
We test the solenoid, check the controller's output to that zone, and inspect the valve-box wiring. Once we find the exact failure, we quote it up front and usually fix it the same visit. Most dead-zone repairs are one of the more affordable calls we run. See our valve & solenoid repair page for more, or just give us a shout.
We'll find the cause and fix it — usually same visit, always an honest price.
